Issue with auto download not fully downloading episodes

I have been using pocketcasts for many years now so I have a pretty good baseline of how the app is meant to work when it’s working as intended. I recently upgraded from an iPhone SE 2020 to an iPhone 16 pro max, and pocketcasts is no longer behaving as expected.
My issue is specifically with the auto-download feature – in the past, this all worked flawlessly, where episodes would download without issue, I would see the green check mark, and it would be added to my up next playlist. I have trim silence set to mad max, and from my experience I believe this depends on the episodes being downloaded. When episodes are streamed, trim silence does not appear to be in effect.
Once I started using my new iphone, certain podcasts appear visually to auto-download, but when I play the podcast it is clear that trim silence is not in effect, which leads me to believe the episode did not fully download. If I go into the specific podcast, tap the green check, and remove the downloaded file, I can re-download it manually and this usually clears up the issue. Sometimes I’ll need to re-download a few times, but it will eventually work. The download progress bar also jumps around much more for the podcast in question, in my experience.
I have one podcast in particular that has daily releases that almost always has issues. I can’t recall with certainty if other podcasts have issues, but if they do they are nowhere near as regular as with this particular podcast. The podcast was added using the Discover tab, not via a link or RSS feed. It is “The Daily Zeitgeist” from iheartpodcasts, and I can definitely confirm that it worked flawlessly for many years on pocketcasts.
Are there any logs I can export to try and figure out what is going on, or alternate ways to add the podcast that might resolve the issue? I took the basic step of unsubscribing to it and resubscribing, but that did not help.
