Issues After Reinstalling Pocket Casts: Playback Data and Setti
-
Hello,
The other day I had a problem with my phone and had to delete and reinstall the Pocket Casts app. After reinstalling it, I logged into my account and the synchronization started.
But two problems occurred. First, many podcasts showed episodes as unarchived or unplayed, even though they had already been played. After logging in, it showed 11,000 unplayed episodes, when in reality there were only about 300.
The second problem was that the individual playback effects for each podcast (playback speed and silence trimming) didn’t sync. I had to go through each show one by one to set them again.
I thought both the number of episodes and the playback effects were synchronized. They also don’t sync with other devices (web or a mobile operating system different from the main account). If not, I’d like to suggest this as an improvement.
Thanks.

Hi, @febrers! Is it possible that you had already been logged out of your account for some time? If so, once you logged back in after reinstalling, the app only retrieved the last information that was uploaded to our servers while you were logged in.
In this case, you can try using multi-select to archive episodes or mark them as played according to the following: https://support.pocketcasts.com/knowledge-base/sync-troubleshooting/#htoc-fixing-sync-issues-with-episode-statuses

Unfortunately, not all user settings sync yet. We have a list of what syncs and what doesn’t here: https://support.pocketcasts.com/knowledge-base/pocket-casts-sync/#what-syncs
