Left menu slot on Android Auto?

  i noticed PocketCasts is putting all the optional menu items in the overflow menu on the right. Any particular reason the furthest left button slot is being left empty? Might be very handy to use that for a function that’s accessed often without having to access the overflow and use an extra tap while driving.

  Hi, @npaladin2000! If you can, can you please share a photo of what you’re seeing? For context, however, audio apps like Pocket Casts aren’t allowed to draw our own UI in Android Auto. We can only pick from templates supplied by Google, so what you’re seeing is likely a result of that.

  Apps like Podcast Addict and Podcast Republic have populated this area, so it’s possible to do. If you limit it to two buttons you can avoid the overflow menu entirely, but in the case of Pocket Casts maybe just put the top menu item on the left and the other two in the overflow menu, to minimize other changes?
