Lock Screen, forward/backward buttons too difficult to use

Hello, on the Android app, I noticed a behavioral change in the Lock Screen (and Notification) view during the past few months that has made going forward/backward difficult. I used to be able to click-click-click quickly to move forward or backwards. Now, nothing happens (most of the time) when I click on the buttons, unless I click and hold the button. The result is that I have to put my focus directly on the app in order to make sure that a click has been successful. And this focus requirement is not only inconvenient but also dangerous, for example if I am trying to use the app while driving. Can the behavior change to these buttons be reverted back to the previous behavior?

Also, a minor nitpick, but the speed-up button on the same views (Lock Screen / Notifications) is too close to the skip-forward button, and I often click it by mistake when I only meant to skip-forward.

    Thanks,
    Nick.

  • Hey @ndierauf,

I appreciate you sharing your experience with the Android app’s Lock Screen and Notification view changes. Your feedback has been added to our ideas board.

Regarding the proximity of the speed-up button to the skip-forward button, we understand how that can lead to accidental clicks. We’ll consider this for future enhancements to enhance user experience.

I agree the skip buttons are too small and do not even seem to work for me. It would be nice for the lock screen player to be full size, why so tiny? This is done right on the Apple podcast app.

  • Thanks for the feedback, @philiphsims — I’ve forwarded your feedback to our team.
