Moving From Google Podcasts?
-
Are you looking for a new home for your podcasts after Google announced it will be sunsetting Google Podcasts in 2024?
If yes, you’ve come to the right place!
Google Podcasts currently does not have an “Export” feature within the app, so moving your subscriptions over needs to be done manually.
If you’re using a Google Account with Google Podcasts, here are the steps you can follow to get started with Pocket Casts:
- Go to Google Takeout.
- Create an export of your Google Account data with “Google Podcasts” selected. You can leave everything else unselected. Google will then work on the export and email you once they are done. According to Google, the process can take a long time—possibly hours or days—to complete.
- Check you Gmail inbox for an email with the subject “Your Google data is ready to download.”
- On the Google Takeout email, click “Download your files.” Follow the prompts to download the exported ZIP file.
- Open the Zip file, and extract the
