Pauses when switching bluetooth devices

Is there a way to prevent Pocket Casts from pausing playback when I switch bluetooth devices?
I’m a new user and I’m used to podcast apps seamlessly switching between devices. Pocket Casts pauses for some reason. I’m not sure if it’s a bug because I have to press the play button twice to get it playing again, almost as if I’m having to resync UI state with actual playback state first before getting being able to start playback again.

We’ve recently made improvements to playback when switching between audio outputs in the iOS app. If you’re experiencing this on iOS, have you already updated to version 7.72? If so, are you still experiencing it from there?
Or are you running into this trouble on another device?
