Playback hangs when connecting to chromecast

    I’ve been using PocketCasts for years now without a problem but this one has been ongoing for a couple weeks now so I thought I’d post about it.

    Device Affected:

    iPhone 13, iOS 18.3.1

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. From New Releases page, click chromecast icon, select output, wait for connection chime, press play on podcast
    2. The loading bar appears under the playback controls but playback never starts.
    3. Order of operations doesn’t seem to matter; if I start it playing and then connect to chromecast, it stops playing on connect.

    I’ve tried going to Help and Feedback to send logs but the Help and Feedback button seems to be non-responsive?

    Steps tried:

    1. Rebooted the phone
    2. Reinstalled pocket casts
    3. Removed and re-added the podcast feed
    4. Checked for updates to Pocket Casts and Google Home apps

    Strangely, this does not seem to affect my iPad Air, 5th gen, running iPadOS 18.1.1.

  • Thanks for reporting. Could you let us know the model and version of the Google Home device you’re using? It looks like you are a Pocket Casts Plus member; could you send us your latest app logs via the app?

      • firmware: 444798,
      • Cast Firmware:3.74.444798
    2. Per my post, I cannot send feedback logs because when I click on Help & Feedback nothing happens.
