Playback Speed on Apple Watch
-
I have playback speed by podcast set on Pocket Casts, with most podcasts playing at accelerated speeds but a few music podcasts set to play back at 1X. However, this doesn’t seem to carry over to the Apple Watch, on which they all seem to playback at whatever speed I set the last one to play on the Apple Watch. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

Currently, playback speeds set on one device don’t sync to other devices. You can learn more about what doesn’t sync in our support guide: https://support.pocketcasts.com/knowledge-base/pocket-casts-sync/#what-doesnt-sync
You’ll need to adjust the playback speed for each podcast directly on your Apple Watch.

Thank you. Is there any way to set up Pocket Casts on the Apple Watch to play all episodes of some podcasts at a different speed than episodes of all other podcasts? Or does the Apple Watch app play all subsequent podcasts at the speed of the previous podcast?

Currently, the Apple Watch app uses the playback speed set for the last played podcast. There isn’t a way to set individual playback speeds for different podcasts on the Apple Watch.
We’ve taken note of your suggestion and added it to our list of feature requests. Thanks!

You’re welcome! In the meantime, if there’s anything else we can more immediately address for you when using the app, please let us know. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention!

Checking back to see if any of the updates has added the feature of the Apple Watch playback speed syncing with the settings on the iOS app (i.e., syncing different playback speed by podcast). Thank you.

Hi @tenaciousdeliciously7f7d8c5119,
Unfortunately, the functionality to sync different playback speeds by podcast between the iOS app and the Apple Watch has not been implemented in our updates so far. The Apple Watch app still uses the playback speed of the last played podcast.
Our development team carefully considers all feature requests for each release. The features we prioritize are often based on the number of requests we receive for them, among other factors.
