Playback stopping
-
lately, when playing from the up next list, playback stops with the message: “this episode is not downloaded, do you want to stream it?”
it is happening between episodes and subwoofers even within an episode. This is new behavior. Why is it happening?

Hi, @jpf123ccd5385ca1! Can you share the following information with us?
- The OS version on your device – you can usually find this from your phone’s Settings
- Your Pocket Casts app version – you can see this from the Pocket Casts app’s Profile > Settings (gear icon) > About
- Do you experience the issue with all your podcasts, or just certain ones? If the latter, which ones? From a podcast’s page in the app, you can click on the share icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, click “Copy,” and paste the share URL here.
- Are you on mobile data when you see the message? Can you check Profile > Settings (gear icon) > Storage & data use for whether “Warn before using data” is enabled? If the setting is enabled and you’re on mobile data, for example, the warning is expected.

os version: Android 15 beta
pocketcast version: 7.61.1 (9214)
happening intermittently on multiple podcasts, seems random

It’s interesting that you are getting the warning even if you are not on mobile data.
When this happens, from experience, it means that the Android OS itself is reporting your device’s WiFi connection as metered. Normally, that should be unmetered.
Are you perhaps using a VPN? VPNs can cause an unmetered connection to be reported by Android as metered—so it’s as if you’re not on WiFi.
