Player frequently unresponsive and nearly UNUSABLE in the past few days
-
Hadnt hhad issues in a few days since updating to 7.46.2 but today it stopped working in the same ways I spoke up here previously and after force quitting it now stalls on the logo when opening. Completely unusable.

Whoops meant to add (and can’t edit for some reason) that because it stalls on the logo, there’s no possibility to send logs as described above

I think my Moto g6 updated automatically to 7.46.1 (9137) and exhibited the same problems I described earlier. I followed the link posted by staff on September 19th to the beta, 7.47-rc-4 (the .apk) at https://github.com/Automattic/pocket-casts-android/releases downloaded and installed it. It seems to be working fine for the past eight hours. I hope it stays at this version since it is newer that the older ones that appear to still cause problems.

Had the dreaded slow down on both Android Pixel phone and Samsung tablets. They both just locked up and only account-related tabs/features would work. Version shown in About was 7.46.2 (9140)
Completely uninstalled app on both devices. Reinstalled from Play store. Version shows same as before. Now, in the very short term, everything is really snappy and seems to work fine. Hoping it’ll keep working in the future.
If you are slowed down or locked up, try uninstalling and then reinstalling.
Thanks for the update to fix the freezing problem.

Reporting in to say I installed 7.47-rc-4 last evening, and so far everything is working okay!

I am happy to report that 7.47-rc-4 (the .apk) at https://github.com/Automattic/pocket-casts-android/releases is still working 24 hours after installing it. I didn’t need to resort to sideloading which looks a bit complicated. I just force-stopped Pocket Casts, followed the above link, opened “Assets” then downloaded and installed the app-7.47-rc-4.apk at the link above. I had to get through Chrome’s “are you sure?” checks but it finally installed and ran fine. Fingers crossed…

Thanks for the update, @davel2015!

I meet the same problem on my WIN 10 Desktop using Brave (based on Chrome) as browser.
For months I’ve been listening a long list of Podcasts one after one – often skipping the first and last seconds in podcasts and listening to them in 1.5-2x speed. Everything worked fine.
Since about one months I keep waiting and waiting for the next Podcast on my list to start :) – now thinking to change my Podcast Player -
Hi @aurora1961!
It sounds like your issue is unrelated to the ones reported here. The issues in this thread are specific to our Android app.
In order for us to investigate the issue you are facing on Windows 10, you can try replicating the issue again, and then contact us via the app. We will then be able to take a closer look and advise you further.

For all those who were affected by this issue, please be sure to update Pocket Casts to the latest version (7.47) to get access to the fix.
I am going to mark this thread as resolved. If others face this issue while on the latest version, please create a new thread, as the issue is likely unrelated.
