Pleading for a few small features for Android app…
-
I have been a paying fan of Pocket Casts for a long while and am content to pay but would really see the value in a few features to make it even better, including…:
- Bookmarks in episodes (and uploaded files). Ability to mark time positions that you can go back to at a later time on a re-listen.
- Ability to create playlists based on wildcard characters/strings.
- Ability to create playlists for uploaded files
- Ability to upload files in batch. Manually loading every file of a 30 part audiobook is less than joyful.
- Ability to upload ignore metadata/tags on uploaded files. Sometimes the filename is far more useful than the title tag.
- Ability to create folders for uploaded files.
Pocket Casts, via uploads is my go to way to listen to audiobooks and it’s ideal, save for lack of a few little quality of life related features.

Thanks for writing in, @indigomirage! I’ve made sure your feature requests are recorded.
Since you mention being a Plus user, for uploading files in bulk at least, you may want to try uploading using the web and desktop app instead. You should be able to select multiple files with those.

Pocketcast is a daily goto and really helpful to listen to podcasts when on morning walks. Really appreciate the seamless ability to go from web to Android and back i.e. remembers where I left off and resume. Second the request to create folders for uploaded files. This will increase utility. Any update on this feature request please?

Hello @paladin1st,
I would be happy to forward this request over to the team for future consideration. Folders for uploaded files is not currently in the works but I’ll definitely add your vote for this.
