Pocket Casts for Mac does not respect full screen setting

For several versions now, I have noticed that Pocket Casts for Mac does not respect the full screen setting. I always use Pocket Casts in a full screen space, and before, if I closed the application in that state, it would reopen in the same state. Now, it always opens in the normal state and I have to maximize it.

Is it possible for it to respect that setting?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi @pericomaiden – I just tested in the latest version (2.0.15) and after setting the app to full screen and then closing it, when I opened it again, it was already in full screen.

Can you confirm what version of macOS you are running? Would you be able to link to a screen recording showing exactly what happens?

    Hi @staff-donnie,

I’m using MacOS Sequoia 15.5 (24F74) with Pocket Casts 2.0.15.

Here you have a screen recording:

    Thanks!

  • Hi @pericomaiden,

Thank you for sharing the screen recording — that’s really helpful.

Are you using an external monitor by chance? We’ve heard a similar report from another user where unplugging the external monitor and reconnecting it fixed the issue.

If that doesn’t help, would you try the following?

    1. Close/quit the Pocket Casts app. Make sure it’s not running anymore and not just hidden.
    2. Remove the entire folder at ~/Library/Application Support/Pocket Casts
    3. Open the app again. It will ask you to log in again.
    4. After logging in, maximize/go full screen.
    5. Quit the app.
    6. Open the app again and confirm if the problem persists.

Let us know how it goes,

    Hi @staff-bluejay,

Yes, I usually have an external monitor connected, but disconnecting and reconnecting it did not solve the problem.

However, resetting the settings as you instructed did solve it.

    Thank you very much!

  • Hi @pericomaiden,

That’s great to hear, thank you for letting us know!
