Podcast Feed Not Updating

Hey there – sent an email to support but thought I’d post here as well.
Our podcast released our new episode earlier today at 6 AM ET and it”s yet to show up on PocketCasts. It usually shows up by now so I thought I’d check to see what’s up especially considering we have a larger audience who uses PocketCasts.

I noticed also that our scheduled post on WordPress didn’t publish as scheduled and I had to publish that manually – is there something going on on the Automattic side of things?

I’ve just checked the show and it appears to be updated now. There was a bit of a delay with the latest episode. Typically episodes should appear within 15 minutes.

Thanks – yep it did eventually appear on the feed roughly about 8 to 10 hours after the episode was published. I had several members of my audience report the same issue. Confirmed it was live on other apps like Spotify, Apple , Overcast but not PocketCasts. Not sure why it suddenly appeared or why it took so long

Hey there – the issue is happening again. Our podcast published to RSS at 6 AM and now almost 9 hours later, it hasn’t updated in PocketCasts yet. It’s available on all other platforms and we have listeners complaining they can’t get it – any advice on what’s happening as to why the podcast isn’t updating on PocketCasts? are we doing something wrong?

Any updates? I sent an email to support as well but haven’t heart back – at this point it’s been 14 hours since we published and it’s still not showing up on PocketCasts but it’s live everywhere else…in the dark here until someone from PC can respond and help?

This has been happening quite a bit lately, various podcasts are randomly being published a few hours late, and on other platforms there is no problem.

Yeah, it’s been over 24 hours now – not sure what’s going on and PocketCasts staff is unresponsive. Never experienced anything like this before for years…

Update: it finally showed up today, not sure when, it was reported to me by an audience member at 11:50 AM. I’m seeing it on the app as well. If it was at 11:50 AM, that means it was over 29 hours since it was published.
No one from Pocket Casts has responded here or to my support email about it either. Incredibly frustrating but glad it’s finally showing up.

The show appears to be updated now. Typically episodes should appear within 15 minutes. However, there might be some server side issue either on our end or their end that cause the dealys.

Thanks for responding. This is the second time in 2 weeks that this has happened. This was the worst of it, as it took over 24 hours to appear, not 15 minutes. Any idea on what may have caused the delay? Can we find out?

@ronifanboy I don’t see any error for the feeds on our end, so I can’t say for sure what’s causing the issue without catching it while it occurs. If you run into this issue in the future, though, you could try triggering a refresh of the feed from within the app using the steps in our guide:
