Podcast length going way up after pressing play

When I press the play button on an episode of a podcast, the app buffers for a while and then increases the length by 3-4 hours. The length of the podcast will say “1h 16m” before I press play, and the added time will be silence. It completely messes up the auto skip at the beginning and end of the podcast because of the added time. Changing settings for the podcast doesn’t fix the problem.

Please also share specific episodes you’ve experienced the issue with.
It’s possible that the podcast is declaring the wrong episode duration in its RSS feed, which is then only corrected once our app has had a chance to load the episode file. Dynamic Ad Insertion from the podcast creator can also influence episode lengths, but those normally shouldn’t add 3-4 hours.

We’ve actually seen a few reports and it seems to be an issue with the podcast itself. In fact, if you use other podcast apps on Android, you will notice the exact same issue.
I’d recommend you report the matter to the author of the podcast, so they can look into why it happens on their episodes in particular.
