Podcast listed twice?

    Hi folks – my podcast (Bel Air Church – https://pca.st/xg6o8et6) is listed twice in the directory. One hasn’t been updated in two weeks and one is up to date. Can anyone help and explain why? Any thoughts? Thank you!

    Hi there @brooklynfall, the two listings that you’re seeing for the podcast are because there are two separate RSS feed links for the show that have been added to Pocket Casts.

    The one you mentioned has the following RSS feed URL:

    https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/2072948.rss

    And the second one has this URL:

    http://belairpres3.sermon.net/rss/

    Perhaps you were using a previous host for the podcast and have since moved to BuzzSprout? If you still have control of the old/incorrect URL, you can add a redirect to the feed, which Pocket Casts will see and then automatically merge the two podcast listings into one.

    And this is something that other podcast apps will notice as well, so if this problem exists on multiple platforms, adding that redirect will fix it for all of them at once.

    Oh great! Maybe you can actually help me with that – I actually switched our feeds recently – the old one is the belairpres one and the new one is the Buzzsprout one. There was a redirect on the belairpres address for about two months and now we’ve canceled our account with that provider, so that feed no longer exists. Is it possible that Pocket Casts has missed that change? Is it possible to “refresh” the PC directory listing somehow?

    Hi folks – any update on this? I just did a search on Pocket Casts and both versions of the podcast are still coming up, though the sermon.net version is listed in the description as ended. Is there a way of deleting that version from the Pocket Casts directory manually, on your end? It’s the one with the address http://belairpres3.sermon.net/rss/. I’ve canceled our account with that provider so there should be no reason it’s still active, and I just don’t want people confused when they do a search for it. The old feed is still visible only in the Pocket Casts directory – it (correctly) doesn’t show up in a search on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, or IHeartRadio. Any help here? Thanks!
