“Podcast Settings” Request: Audio only for video podcast

It would be nice if we could — on a feed by feed basis — configure Pocket Casts to play only the audio for a video podcast.

Thank you for sharing your idea! Currently, in Pocket Casts, you can switch a video episode to audio by closing the full-screen player. However, configuring the app to play only the audio for a video podcast on a feed-by-feed basis is not a feature yet. Your suggestion is innovative and could enhance the user experience. We have added it to our ideas board :)

I would really appreciate that too, since I regularly consume podcasts, which are only published as video feed. Since I can’t reconcile it with my developer honour to waste so much bandwidth, I have my own scripts to load the videos, convert them and republish them to your service as a private audio podcast. A real pain in the ***.
So this feature would really help me a lot. Provided, of course, that the image data is not actually loaded.

I think this feature would be a valuable addition to the app. Recently, I discovered two podcasts that publish videos. It would be helpful if we could customise the app to retain only the audio and download it in the same way as other podcasts. Thank you.
