Podcasts will not play on mp3
-
I used to be able to save podcasts from Pocket Casts directly to an mp3 player plugged into my iMac. It is not working now.
When I save a podcast from pocketcasts.com, it shows up in the mp3 player as a xxxx.mp3.crdownload file. That file will not play from the mp3 player. I deleted .crdownload, leaving the extension at .mp3. That will not play either.

.crdownloadis the file extension used by Chrome (or other Chromium based browsers) for partially completed downloads so this may be a browser issue. You might try Safari or Firefox to see if one of those works for you.Can you let us know which podcast you are trying to download? I tried a Hidden Brain episode with Chrome and was able to use the resulting
mp3file. -
Thanks, bjtitus, but that did not work. I tried both Firefox and Safari. The file downloads as .mp3 without the .drdownload, but will not play. I tried with an On Point podcast, but several others are behaving similarly.

@kiwinid Did the download show as completed for you on both Firefox and Safari? Are they playable in the Pocket Casts Web app on those browsers?
Would you mind sharing the podcast link for the episodes you have tried to download? https://support.pocketcasts.com/knowledge-base/sharing-podcasts-and-episodes/
