Potentially Moving from Overcast

I have been a long-time user of Overcast. My use case is that I listen to podcasts on my Apple Watch without the phone (while running outside) and I like to listen to episodes in order of publication (i.e., moving from podcast to podcast to listen next to the oldest episode I haven’t listened to). Overcast was working fine for this but has since May become unreliable. I can’t quite figure out how to do this with Pocket Casts–i.e., to automatically transfer new episodes to the up next list and then listen to that list in the order of oldest unlistned to episode to newest. I then want to transfer the up next list to the watch. However, I don’t want to subscribe to plus until I know this is possible. I would very much appreciate any advice about this.
