Price increase

Happy yearly subscriber since 2013. Got a Google notification that the price of my yearly subscription will be five fold higher starting the 1st of September.

I have read that this new price should be only for NEW customers, of which I am not. Why are old costumers being forced to accept the new price or lose their membership?

Please help me resolve this and I’ll gladly pay.

I received help via e-mail to keep my subscription.

Which just leads to more questions!

    • My yearly renewal was through Paddle.com, why are we circumventing the Google Play store?
    • Why isn’t pocketcasts doing more to help their old users not get overcharged? Many users will not really understand that they must come here/email support to fix this and will just cause confusion. Could this not be resolved centrally in a better way?

Love the app, just want to see it succeed, but this process is frustrating.

Paddle is our payment processor for direct subscriptions through our website. That’s in contrast to subscriptions made through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

We’ve been in constant communication with Google about the pricing issue, but we’re still waiting for a resolution from their end. So, rather than have our users wait as well, we came up with a workaround through Paddle, where we have more tools at our disposal to manage and modify subscriptions. Trust us, we would love for this issue to be resolved as soon as possible too!

For further questions about your account and subscription, we’ll continue in your email thread to avoid sharing sensitive information publicly.
