Pricing for prior subscriber

    Hello,

    I let my subscription end in March, and was going to resub but the pricing QUADRUPLED apparently!?

    Is there any way to get the old pricing? It looks like this is the place to ask.

    I looked into a bit more, my subscription lapsed in March of 2023. I cancelled it back in December when I lost my job not knowing if I’d have the money to resub. Apparently that was before knowledge the price would be going up to 14.99 to renews and then another price bump to a whopping 39.99 for new customers. Is new customers defined anywhere? My primary use for the for the plus subscription is the cross platform desktop apps and hope I can be offered a retention offer.

    Similar, my sub ended on 14th April 2023. Really want to resub but can’t justify the 4x price hike.

    My subscription hasn’t ended yet but I purely purchased Pocketcasts for it’s Folders feature [ and sometimes, I use the new UI tweaks that are unlocked ]. I barely use the web player though it’s a nice additionality. My best interests would lie somewhere in the middle, just unlock the mobile features of PocketCasts once via a Google Play/Apple Store purchase and keep subscription options for those who wanna use the web player as well. Basically two tiers of app, like it was before, [ subscription option since I assume hosting the web player would cost some server fee ].

    Either way, that was a digress from the main point. I live in India and even the current Pocketcasts subscription was more expensive than Spotify Yearly or Google Play Pass. Quadrupling it would mean it will become more expensive than any streaming platform, even Netflix’s highest tier. For something that only plays podcasts and doesn’t offer anything original in terms of content, this is too much.
