Priority and sorting for single podcast

    Hi all,

    i’m pretty new and trying this app from somedays to check if it able to replace my podcast addict daily use.
    I find pocket cast very simple related to PA, with a minimun fraction of PA option, but what i miss more is there is not a priority concept (or i did not found it) and the option to sort every podcast from new to old or viceversa.

    I have (but i think everyone have) some podcast i wanna hear as soon as possible (news tipically) and other more important than others, so how i can sort in this way so every morning i get before of other news info?

    Other options is related for single podcast, how a can sort oldtonew or newtoold the podcast ? (not all podcast togheter, on single podcast basis).

    i cannot find a way to do so basic option, can someone suggest me ?

    Hi, @marcotonoli1969! Welcome to Pocket Casts! I’m glad you are trying the app.

    In terms of sorting, the app does not have a feature for priority sorting like the PA app you mentioned. However, Pocket Casts does have sorting for individual podcasts so you can organize the episodes by release date from new to old or old to new. You can learn more about the Sorting options in this guide.

    Something else you can use is the Up Next queue. You can set some podcasts to automatically send new episodes to the queue, so when you’re ready to listen you have a list of new episodes available. Please check this guide for more details on setting that up.

    Finally, you may consider setting up some Filters so that you can easily find the new episodes that match your criteria.

    Hello, I agree with Marco here. It would be amazing to be able to sort podcasts manually with a concept of priority. This is something that Downcast also offers. For instance, if I have podcasts A, B and C, the priority concept would allow me to always have them play B (P1), A (P2) and C (P3). I have 47 podcasts I track regularly, some I listen to everyday, and some much less often. I have made playlists to listen to them all by topic (news, tech, etc.), but within these playlists I’d like the podcasts I listen to everyday, to come first…and I’d like to be able to sort them once and for all. The rest of the app is amazing but this feature is the key missing piece for me to switch from Downcast. Thank you all and happy New Year!

    Hi @thomasstorck, we track requests based on the idea itself, not individual forum threads. So even if the same idea appears in multiple threads, they all get consolidated in one place.

    As for the number of requests needed, there isn’t a fixed threshold, it depends on a variety of other factors.
