Private (custom) RSS feed not working

  • Unknown's avatar

I have scripts that create private/custom RSS feeds that work fine with other podcast clients like Overcast, but when I try to add it to Pocket Casts it silently fails. I submitted a support ticket about a week ago but haven’t heard back. I can see Pocket Casts retrieving the URL from my server, but it never displays. Any ideas why it fails?

I’ve included below the full contents of a simple testing RSS file that I’m unable to add/play from Pocket Casts:

Testing Feed

    <itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit> <itunes:category text="Technology" />

testing

Testing

  • Hi @ajkesseldb469559f9!

Could you please share the feed URL with us so we can check? Thanks!

I shared the feed URL multiple times to the support address and prefer not to share the original link publicly, but I’ve posted a couple of sample RSS files here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ucyl2hrv9e73h0xcydj9w/h?rlkey=07my8l8zg49isvgctgizutb9p&dl=0

If you can respond to my support request, I can send the URL I’m trying to add to Pocket Casts.

This was solved in another thread. My problems were (1) lack of
tag and (2) using text HTML entities rather than numbers.

  • Thanks for updating the thread, @ajkesseldb469559f9! I’ll go ahead and close it.
