Problems downloading & playing podcasts

  I am using Pocket Casts ver 7.69 (9255) on an Android phone, having just switched from another podcast player. I am subscribed to the same podcasts in Pocket Casts as I was with the previous podcast app. I am having several problems with Pocket Casts which did not occur with the other podcast app.

  1. Podcasts frequently will not download. This occurs on an episode-by-episode basis, not with all episodes in a podcast. Pocket Casts is set to download & store files on the phone (not an SD card or other device).
  2. Many episodes will not play either on the phone’s speakers or on a connected headset. Other audio apps (such as radio, Amazon Music, etc.) have no problems. Only Pocket Casts has this problem but with all podcast episodes, only some.
  3. Episodes in podcasts set to automatically appear in the “play next” function don’t.

  @pete1340 Could we have some information about the device you are using? What phone model and Android version are you using?

  Do you have any other android device to test with to check if the issue is only exclusive to this device?
