    Hi Pocket Casts Team,

I hope this message finds you well. As a devoted user of Pocket Casts, I’ve been impressed with the app’s functionality and ease of use. I wanted to share a suggestion that could further elevate the podcast organization experience.

Have you contemplated introducing a drag-and-drop feature within the Podcasts Section, particularly when utilizing Folders? This feature would enable users to intuitively arrange and organize their podcasts, akin to the smooth management of smartphone apps and folders.

    Benefits of Drag-and-Drop Podcast Organization:

    1.	Customizable Organization: Tailor the arrangement of podcasts to individual preferences for a personalized listening experience.

    2.	Effortless Sorting: Simplify the process of organizing podcasts with an intuitive drag-and-drop action, reducing the time and steps involved.

    3.	Visual Clarity: Enhance the user experience with a clear visual representation of podcast organization within folders.

    4.	Quick Prioritization: Easily prioritize favorite podcasts by rearranging them at the user’s convenience.

    5.	Streamlined Playlist Creation: Drag podcasts directly into playlists for seamless and dynamic playlist management.

    6.	Time Efficiency: Save time by moving multiple podcasts simultaneously, optimizing overall workflow efficiency.

    7.	Adaptable to User Habits: Allow users to adapt their organization based on changing listening habits and preferences.

    8.	Consistent User Interface: Maintain a uniform and user-friendly interface by incorporating drag-and-drop functionality across platforms.

    9.	User Engagement Boost: Increase user engagement by offering a more interactive and hands-on approach to podcast organization.

    10.	Reduced Learning Curve: Leverage the familiarity of drag-and-drop interactions, making the feature accessible to users of all experience levels.

    11.	Intuitive Cleanup: Effortlessly remove podcasts from folders with a drag-and-drop gesture, contributing to efficient library management.

    12.	Enhanced Collaboration: Enable collaborative playlist creation and organization by allowing multiple users to contribute through drag-and-drop actions.

    13.	Visual Feedback: Provide users with immediate visual feedback on their organization changes, enhancing the overall user interface responsiveness.

    14.	Optimized Search and Filtering: Improve search functionality by incorporating drag-and-drop as an additional filtering option for podcasts.

    15.	Dynamic Folder Thumbnails: Generate dynamic folder thumbnails based on the podcasts within, offering a visually appealing preview.

    16.	Enhanced Podcast Promotion: Facilitate strategic podcast placement within folders for featured or promoted content.

    17.	User Satisfaction: Empower users with advanced organization tools, contributing to heightened satisfaction with the app.

    18.	Efficient Episode Queuing: Streamline episode queuing by allowing users to drag episodes into the desired order for a seamless listening experience.

    19.	Enhanced User Navigation: Simplify user navigation by providing an alternative method for managing and accessing podcasts within folders.

    20.	Gamification Potential: Explore gamification opportunities to reward users for effective podcast organization, adding an element of fun to the user experience.

I believe these enhancements would contribute to an even more enjoyable user experience. Your consideration of this suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I like this idea, and I would also like to add a suggestion to it: one of my biggest frustrations is the fact that when using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, the starred podcasts aren’t at the top of the list as they are in the mobile apps. If it could be possible to create a folder in the show’s folder and label it “starred episodes”. that would go a long way toward better podcast organization when using the app inside Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. As it is, it’s impossible to find specific starred episodes in the current automotive interface.

  • Thanks again for sharing your thoughts on how we can improve the app, @teknevra96! Although drag and drop organization already works in the app, it does not yet work when adding podcasts to folders. I’ll add this to our list of feature requests.

  • Hi, @drtbell5df55239a9! I think that’s a good idea too. I see we have an existing feature request similar to this, so I’ve made sure to add a vote for it on your behalf.
