I would simply like to understand why some or sometimes all of my downloaded episodes in the queue will all of a sudden decide to not play, even after several restarts, but then a couple hours later without turning on data or changing location it randomly starts going again.

That is really unusual and, I’m sure, quite frustrating. How long has this been happening for you? Have you noticed any patterns in when this occurs? Does it make any difference if you’re playing over Bluetooth or directly on your phone? Do you see any error messages in the app when this happens?
If you are on Android, you may want to take a look at the in-app logs the next time this happens to see if there are any errors reported there. The in-app logs can be accessed on Android at by going to the “Profile” tab → ⚙️ → “Help & feedback” → logs icon on the top of the screen.
