random bug

Ongoing issue, after I enabled auto skip forward in the beginning and end, where when I’m done with one podcast episode in my playlist, it will automatically delete another podcast episode on list.

Hi there, @trailspeedc69c3dfab2!
That is quite interesting. Can you please share more information with us:
- Your device model and operating system (e.g Samsung S22)
- Your Pocket Casts version (can be checked via Profile > About)
- The auto skip forward/backwards settings you are using
- The durations of the podcasts which get removed
Once we have this information, we will be able to advise you further!

iphone 13 mini 17.0.3 ( saw the bug first on ios 16xx)

I’m using skip first and skip last settings
it happens intermittently where when I’m done with a podcast, don’t recall if it’s when the current podcast finishes while playing on it’s own and or if it’s when I drag my finger across the timeline to finish the episode by moving my finger all the way to the right. But the next podcast that is suppose to play next, that has not been played, in the up next playlist may automatically get removed randomly. This only started happening when I enabled skip first and skip last setting.

Thank you for letting us know! Testing this out myself I’ve tried the following:
- I set my podcast, The Daily, to skip the first 10 seconds and the last 10 seconds
- I cleared all other podcast from my Up Next List
- I added the 3 most recent podcast episodes of The Daily to play
- The first 10 seconds were skipped as desired
- I slide ahead to the last 20 seconds and let it play
- The last 10 seconds were skipped as desired
- The next podcast played as expected, skipping the first 10 seconds as expected as well
Can you let me know how the steps you’re following might be similar or different from mine? I would guess I’m missing something in how you’re using the app that’s causing the trouble. My goal here is to find that missing secret so we can get started fixing things for you :-) All details you can share, like the podcasts, episodes, and specific settings, you’re using are appreciated

Sometimes I’ll swipe the whole episode timeline to the end, or listen the the whole episode , and the bug will happen.

@trailspeedc69c3dfab2 how many seconds do you have set for your skip first and skip last settings? We’ll want to get as close as possible to your particular setup to hopefully replicate the issue on our end.

@trailspeedc69c3dfab2 Would you be able to send app logs along to us the next time this occurs? You can send app logs by reaching out to us within the app — Profile > Settings > Help & Feedback > Get in touch.
In your message, be sure to mention forum post 1633, which will help us find your message on our end.

Similar behavior here but more connected to the sleep function.
Unfortunately I cannot tell how to reproduce the bug as it appears randomly: when the sleep function stopped the player the next podcast on the playlist gets marked as listend and deleted from the playlist in the moment it should start playing.
I tried to find a connection to the skip function or anything else which would make the bug reproducible but I could not until now.
Here my experience:
- For sleep “end of the episode” (translated from the German GUI as I did not find the option to change the GUI language) this means when I start playing again the next episode will be marked as listend directly.
- For sleep after a specific time the active episode will be played to the end and the next episode will be marked as listend.
- If I start playing a different episode when returning from sleep after a specific time, this selected episode will be played to the end and the next episode in the list will be marked als listend.
Im using Pocket Casts 7.68.0.1 on iOS 17.5.1 (iPhone 12).
