Rewind bug

On my iPhone 11 with iOS 17, and for many iOS iterations in the past dating back to 2022, many podcasts will randomly rewind without any interaction with the app. It’s usually 30 seconds or so, sometimes longer. It’s happening when the phone is sitting on my desk and I’m not touching anything or interacting with it, so I know it’s not an accidental rewind button press. And it happens so fast at first I thought it was a glitch in the mp3/recording. But I’ve learned it won’t happen again if I replay the same spot. It’s competitively random, and it’s the app. (I’ve listened to the same podcasts on other apps with no issue.)
But it happened so much that I stopped using the app several months ago. I’m only coming back to it now because Google Podcasts is going away. Surely I’m not the only person that’s experiencing this weird bug ??? It’s infuriating to be listening to a podcast and have it rewind, and have to then have to either re-listen or fast forward for no reason at all.
please help! I want to love this app but I can’t believe this is still happening.

Hi there! Can you check the version number of Pocket Casts installed in Profile > tap the Settings icon at the top right > About? Do you see an update for the app in the App Store?

That sounds annoying! When this happens, is your iPhone connected to Bluetooth? Is the phone screen off (in sleep mode) when this happens?
