Sharing podcasts no longer works

Hi Oyood, thanks for the time to help on that! I’ve got it, when it turns to no thumbnails, the problem is WA indeed, closing and reopen helps to show something! Thanks! But the lack of images is another problem, as you said, it remains.

Sorry for my late answer here, I’ve been away for a couple weeks.
We have shipped some improvements to our previews system. I was just testing in WhatsApp some of the links you provided in your previous message , and while they take a couple seconds to be generated, the previews seem to be there correctly now.
We’ll keep working on this to make things faster in upcoming updates.

On my Samsung it now shows a hyperlink picture but a description saying “Web Player – Pocket casts” with the PC logo.
On my Realme it seems to be now fixed showing the correct episode artwork thumbnail. Which seems odd as its PC version 7.94, so I’m confused now.@tsgcn Can you please confirm if you only notice the issue in WhatsApp and not on other apps?

Hi Cara. I don’t recally any other app that I would ordinarily use in this way (I would usually share a link via WhatsApp), so I’m not sure i can confirm that it’s only WhatsApp that has the issue. I’ll try to test sharing the link on some other apps and get back to you . Thank you

Which episode are you having issues with?

It looks like you didn’t use the link provided above. I tried again and it works today. So the service is very unreliable.

It’s currently working so poorly again, regardless of which podcast, that I’m seriously considering cancelling my premium subscription. You haven’t been able to get this sorted out for years.

@oyood Thanks for letting us know. I’m testing on Android 16, and when I try to share an episode from Pocket Casts to WhatsApp, in the WhatsApp message editor, it looks like there’s an attempt to load the Pocket Casts thumbnail, but it ultimately fails. That results in a blank space at the top of the message editor:
So, once I tap “Send,” only the Pocket Casts share link is sent. Does that match what you are experiencing?

Yes, but usually there is a non-informative preview area like the one here at the top, with only pca.st in it instead of text and images:
So I would say that the text is not available either, because otherwise at least that would be there.

@oyood You mentioned that this happens regardless of what podcast episode you’re sharing. Just to confirm, you’re still seeing this issue in Whatsapp, correct? Or are you seeing it in other apps as well?
For example, I tested sending a share link for a few episodes in Beeper and the preview loaded for each of them there.
Have you experienced this issue in any other? Or is Whatsapp the only app that you’ve used for sending share links?

I tried Beeper. It also does not generate a link preview. And it’s very asynchronous with messages and deletions.
