Shuffle with parameters?

    I like to listen to many podcasts at a time but in order of the way they come out, ex A1 —> B1 —> C1 —> A2 —> B2 —> C2 —> A3 —> B3 —> C3 etc.

currently I download ~100 at a time, 10x episodes per 10x podcasts and have to manually put them in order and it takes forever and is not a smooth process.

I was hoping this would be possible with the paid version shuffle option, but it looks like it just randomly plays episodes out of order.

is there an easier way to do this? Am I missing something? Is auto-ordering them even possible currently?

  • Hi there, @rmeyer147! The shuffle option is meant to be totally random so it wouldn’t help in the scenario described.

My suggestion (which is similar to what you’re already doing) is to create a manual playlist. In the playlist you can add the specific podcasts so only episodes from those podcasts appear in the playlist. Then, tap the three-dot menu then select “Reorder episodes”. This will allow you to sort the episodes so they appear in the playback order you want. In the playlist options you can then select Auto Download to download the episodes, if needed. If you don’t see the Playlists yet, please update to version 8.0+.

I’ve added your feedback to one of our feature requests about adding more sorting options. While there is no guarantee the feature will be implemented, the team will take this into account as they make future app improvements.
