Silent episodes

Hello!
The play/pause function has always been a bit funky for me. Sometimes when I press play, the episode will play but no sound is coming out, but ive always been able to make it work by restarting the app. But now Ive got three full episodes that I can’t get to work, two of which got uploaded the other day (Oct. 8th) and one from 2020. They’re all from different podcasts as well, so I don’t think the issues lies in the hands of the hosts. I asked someone else and they were able to listen to the one from 2020, unsure about the other two, so maybe something’s wrong with my app/device? I can play them through the browser that opens up when pressing the link, but when I open the episode in-app it will play but no sound coming out.

Android, non-plus member, I have a stable connection and can play other episodes from the same podcasts, the app is updated. Ive tried restarting both my phone and the app. Ive yet to try uninstall and reinstalling it…

I have a One plus, model DN2103, OxygenOS 13.0 | Android 13, pocket cast version 7.73 (9273)
I’ve never had problems that lasts like this. Not selected episodes that still has the problem, and that ot affects the entire episode. Only temporary ones when I play after a long pause or had connection issues.

The episode you shared above played fine on my Android phone.
Can you try clearing the Pocket Casts app cache? You can follow these steps:
- Go to your phone’s Settings app.
- Find “Apps” or “Applications.”
- Locate “Pocket Casts” and tap on it.
- Look for “Storage” or “App storage.”
- Tap on “Clear Cache.” (Do not clear data, as this might delete downloaded episodes.)
- Relaunch the Pocket Casts app and try playing the episodes again.

Interesting. Clearing cache didn’t fix it. However, I did try clear data after that as I don’t have any downloaded episodes that im afraid of losing, and that did fix the problem!
