Skip controls greyed out on lock screen

  I have version 7.81 (9306) on Android 11 (Samsung Galaxy A20)
  The skip controls are greyed out on the lock screen.

  This only happened in the last few days; the skip controls on the lock screen used to work two or three weeks ago.

  Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the skip controls. Getting them to work consistently across all Android devices and versions is tricky, but I appreciate your patience.

  Could you try the following steps to see if it helps?

  1. Tap the Profile tab.
  2. Tap the Settings cog (top right).
  3. Tap General.
  4. Tap Media notification controls.
  5. Toggle on “Pixel Watch skip buttons”.

  have you tried geekygecko’s suggestion of togling on “Pixel Watch skip buttons”?
