Skipping issue STILL NOT FIXED (Oct 16th)
-
Man, I don’t know what the issue is with getting this fixed, but you guys have been promising for at least the better part of the year that you are “aware of the issue” and are “working on fixing it”. The last time I heard that was from customer service in JULY. It’s now October 16th. Still not fixed. The whole reason I came here was that I disliked the Apple podcast app and wanted to try something different, but it’s starting to look real enticing to bail on Pocket Casts and go back. Having your podcast randomly leap back in time like 2+ minutes, randomly, over and over, is getting real frustrating. You know what the problem is. The DYNAMIC inserted ADS are causing it. This was known like a year ago. So, either fix it, or DISABLE them until it’s fixed. Doing nothing is not an acceptable option. Come on guys! We’ve all been patient but good lord. When???

Hi there!
I can imagine how frustrating this must be. This has been quite a tricky one to resolve. The good news is that we are working on a fix and it should be out soon.
I just want to clarify that we don’t insert dynamic ads, and we have no control over them. They get inserted into the audio file while you are streaming it, so even if you pause the episode midway, the ads that you were initially going to hear might change.
The other workaround in the meantime is to keep downloading the affected episodes to ensure the durations remain consistent.
I’ve also replied to your email, so I will close this thread so we can continue there.
