    Some newly added episodes are auto-archived

    IOS, version 7.77.1.0

    AutoArchive Settings : Played episodes : after playing, Inactive episodes : never, Include Starred episodes : on.

    Works well in Apple Podcasts

    At least two episodes were auto-archived unexpectedly :

    Just to make sure I understand, you’re subscribed/following the podcast titled “Slava’s YouTube Playlist” and two of the episodes that were added to the podcast were automatically archived, is that right?

    Could you let us know the title of these two episodes to make sure I’m looking at the correct ones on our end?

    I think the issue happens when relatively old episodes are added to RSS.

    Were these podcast episodes added to the feed at a different time than the listed published date?

    Hi Mike,

    yes, it is correct. I’m subscribed to the podcast and some of newly added episodes were automatically archived. This feed is a mirror of YouTube playlist so new items are added much ( sometimes years ) later after published date. Also items in the feed are not sorted by published date. Let me know if this sort is required. But anyway it is very likely possible that next added episode will be inserted to the middle of the feed ( even if sorted ).

    Hi Slava,

    I took a look at the Podcast RSS feed that you shared (https://phpstack-957877-4608069.cloudwaysapps.com/SlavaPodcast/podcast_feed.xml) and I don’t see those 2 episodes you mention in your previous message listed in this feed.

    Could it be that they got deleted from the YouTube playlist since, or that the tool you are using to generate this RSS feed mirror of YouTube playlist might sometimes add then soon after remove entries from the feed it generates (or maybe the tool only gets the first “page” of the playlist content when generating your RSS feed)? Leading to Pocket Casts adding them first but then seeing them as deleted from the feed?

    sorry, I occasionally deleted them from the feed. Do you prefer to wait for next reproduction or the fact that episode addition date is far after publication date give some hint ?

    @anotherslava The information you’ve shared about the dates is sufficient. What you are seeing is expected. Specifically, episodes get automatically archived when the added at date and publication date don’t match by more than a week. This is to avoid flooding filters, and so on.

    Is this one week period customizable ? Shouldn’t it be in sync with Auto Archive->Inactive episodes setting ( set to Never for me ) ?

    @anotherslava This period is currently not customizable. However, I’ve filed a feature request on your behalf for an option to customize the period.
