Sorting Podcasts in Android Automotive

    I’m giving pocket casts a try in my car that has android automotive because youtube music is a hot mess.

    I added my favorite podcast (The Delta Flyers) from the app on my phone and did a sync in the car and was able to select the show from the podcasts list on the car.

    The problem is, it lists the oldest episode first (from 2020) and even scrolling to the end only gets me to 2022.

    Is it possible to sort ‘newest first’ or increase the results to include the latest episodes?

    Not sure how else I’m supposed to play the latest episode from the car.

    Unfortunately, there is no way to sort this on Android Automotive. However, we found a workaround that you can try:

    1. Open the podcast in the Pocket Casts app on your phone.
    2. Tap the three dots next to the search bar in the app and select the desired sort order (e.g., “Newest First”).
    3. Go to Android Automotive again.
    4. Open the podcast on your car’s Android Auto interface. The episodes should now be sorted in the order you selected on your phone.

    Thanks for the reply! This is working for me. I didn’t realize that settings in the phone app would sync to the car. That’s great!

    It’s already clear that this is so much better than using yt music.
