Stop ‘Up Next’ if not downloaded on WiFi

I only download podcasts on my WiFi but sometimes turn on my mobile data when not connected to a router, this means that Pocket Casts will auto cue episodes that I mark as automatically ‘Up Next’ but that aren’t downloaded yet. Is there a way that settings will only cue ‘Up Next’ when on WiFi in the same way as Auto Download only in unmetered WiFi mode?

  • Hi, @freewheelindylan!

There isn’t a way to do it exactly as you describe yet. However, something else that could help with your particular use case is setting your Up Next queue to be automatically downloaded. That would be under Profile > Settings (gear icon) > Auto download > Up Next. This way, when you do switch to mobile data, there’s a lower chance your Up Next queue will contain an episode that’s not downloaded.

We also have an open feature request for skipping episodes in the Up Next queue that are not downloaded when on mobile data. That seems like it would be helpful for you. Would you like us to add a vote for that feature request on your behalf?

thanks for your work around, I’ve selected the up next in auto download and will see if that improves things,.

yes, do add a vote for what you describe it does sound like what I’m missing.
