Streaming on Google Home network stopped working

For a couple of months now, streaming podcasts on my Google devices no longer work. The Play symbol immediately reverts to Play every time i click it.

    Playing over Bluetooth still works.

  • Hi @fabriceportes

Can you please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check WiFi Connection: Ensure that both your Android device and Google Home are connected to the same WiFi network.
    2. Restart Devices: Try restarting both your Android device and Google Home device(s).
    3. Update Pocket Casts: Make sure you have the latest version of Pocket Casts installed on your device. Updates often include bug fixes that might resolve your issue.
    4. Re-link Google Account: Sometimes re-linking your Google account to your Google Home can help. You can do this through the Google Home app.
    5. Check Google Home Settings: Ensure that your Google Home is set up correctly to receive cast commands. You can verify this in the Google Home app.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, could you please let us know the model and OS version of the devices you are using?

All steps done and do not resolve the issue.

Note that I do see the device i want to cast to. Streams starts and immediately stops after a fraction of second. I can hear a sound on the device but it stops immediately and the button turn back to “Play” (from “Pause”).

    Device : Samsung Galaxy S20FE

    Android version 13

  • Hi @fabriceportes,

A fix for casting to Google devices is scheduled to be included in the upcoming 7.81 update.

We appreciate your patience as we work to address this issue.
