Subscription failed to renew at old price

Last year I remember reading to not agree to the new price, and that it’ll renew at the older price. I did the same a day or two ago, but instead of renewing at the old price, my subscription through Google Play was instead canceled. What do I do here?

To add to this, on Google Play I saw that it was asking me to agree to the $39.99 price increase. I was supposed to remain at the $14.99 price, but it didn’t renew. Will I even be able to get my grandfathered price back, or should I go to another app altogether?
