Sync issues with PocketCasts on iOS and Volvos PocketCasts App

    Hi there,

    I’m using Pocket Casts (Plus Account) on my iPhone and on my Volvo with their Android Car System (not Android Auto!).

    The PocketCasts on my Volvo still has many podcasts subscribed to that I haven’t subscribed to on my iPhone for a long time.
    I already logged out of my PocketCasts-App on the Volvo and logged in again. Refreshed manually but there are still many “old” Podcasts.

    Any Idea how to fix this?

    It sounds like you’re using the Android Automotive system on your Volvo, which is a standalone app that doesn’t require a connection to the phone to play podcasts.

    Can you please try the following actions?

    1. On the iOS app, tap the “Refresh Now” button at the Profile tab. Pay attention if you see any error there.
    2. If you don’t see an error refreshing in the iOS app, head to the Pocket Casts app on the Android Automotive and refresh again.
    3. It might also be worth signing out from the iOS app and sign back in to refresh the connection to your account.

    If you’re still having trouble, please reach out to us in the iOS app at Profile > Settings > Help & feedback > Get in touch > Get Support. In your message, please let us know the approximate time you performed the manual refresh in the iOS app.

    Hi dersodl & staff-zara, have there been any updates or fixes for this? I have the same issues.

    I use the AAOS version in my Volvo and iOS on my iPhone. I start a podcast in the car and want to pick up where I left off on my iPhone, and 99% of the time it seems as though the iPhone does not receive the sync point from the AAOS. I even go in and manually refresh in the volvo before turning it off, and then manually refresh on the iOS before starting. and the episode will show as though it has never been started.

    Running the latest versions on both.

    Just to be sure, can you confirm that your car has a reliable internet connection?

    If so, it would be a good idea to check if Refreshing on just the iPhone fixes the issue, or if refreshing is needed on both ends. This will help determine which device is not syncing.
