Tagging shows: partial seasons, show ended, show abandoned, ad free

In the vein of driver reported road construction and traffic slowdowns on GoogleMaps, I’d like listener-generated tags re: the some of the most off-putting aspects of podcasts and some of the best. The things that make listeners say “if I’d known this from the beginning, I wouldn’t have started listening,” or the opposite: “I only choose shows like this!”

If I search the Discover tab and look at a podcasts, I’d love to see tags telling me other listeners found it had partial seasons or an extensive back-catalogue; that it was ad heavy even by podcast standards or that it’s was an ad free unicorn; and if it has ended or been abandoned.

To keep those tags up to date, there’s the GoogleMaps example again of prompting listeners of a podcast “previous listeners reported this podcast has made some but not all of its episodes available here. Is that still accurate?”

  • Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve forwarded this to our development team for consideration.
