The “downloaded” green checkmark keeps disappearing

Hi everybody, I really tried searching for this one but it was either impossible or it hasn’t come up yet. There have been a handful of times in the past few months in which every episode I had marked as downloaded (green checkmark) were no longer marked as downloaded (green checkmark gone). The files are still obviously on my phone, because once I start the download, it finishes IMMEDIATELY. So every time this great reset occurs, I no longer know which episodes are taking up space on my phone I’m using version 7.74 (9275) on Android.

@jimmymcnulty1 That’s certainly unexpected! Are you finding that this occurs with specific podcasts or episodes? Or does it seem to happen randomly with episodes from different podcasts?
Could you let us know what device and Android OS version you’re using?
Also, do you have anything configured in Profile > Settings > Auto Archive — specifically the “Inactive Episodes” option?

It’s every episode that I have downloaded, spanning multiple podcasts. I’ve got a Motorola Z4 running Android version 10. “Archive inactive episodes” is set to “Never”. I wish I could tell you exact dates, but I will guess it’s happened 2-3 times in the past 2-3 months.

Thanks for listening. I’d be shocked if I was the only one. It’s almost impossible to say when. Older models of Android would ask if I want to update any apps, but lately they just auto-update. I’ve been curious if it happens when a new version is pushed out.

So far, we haven’t had any other reports.
The next release of Pocket Casts Android (7.75) is scheduled for next week if you’d like to wait and see if the newer version helps with your issue here.
In the meantime, if you notice any patterns, actions, or anything that could trigger this, that might be helpful to understand the problem better.
