Unfollowed podcasts reappear

  I’ve unfollowed multiple podcasts. They disappear from my Podcasts tab. The next day, they are back in my feed and the Podcasts tab. I only access Pocket Casts on my Google Pixel 9. How do I get rid of them?

  Hi @mitch713,

  Since Podcast Follows are one of the items that syncs, I suspect that you’re running into a sync conflict.

  Would you try the following?

  First, go to each app’s “Profile” screen:

  • Web and desktop apps – click the “Profile” icon on the upper-right corner of the screen
  • Android and iOS mobile apps – tap the “Profile” tab

  Then, check if you’re logged in to the same account across all your devices. Check the “Profile” screen for any errors. On the Android and iOS mobile apps, tap “Refresh Now” to force a sync.

  I just noticed this problem. I wanted to unfollow podcasts I wasn’t listening to. They come back within 10 seconds or so. It seems that I need to unfollow twice. I don’t have this app on any other devices.

  This happens to me too but not all the time, usually I just remove it one more time and it works, but I agree it’s annoying, especially because it’s happened to me more than once.

  I only have this app on one device. I did find that after unfollowing I refresh (pull down on the screen) the podcast will come back, if I refresh again then it’s gone.

  @staff-eleanor I don’t have another Pocket Cast account on the device, just one.
  And as @steveg19 wrote, that’s exactly what I do.

  I don’t have a problem doing 2 refreshes to unfollow a podcast. At first it didn’t seem like I could get rid of it.
