Up Next Queue Disappeared on Old and New Phones

    After installing the app on my new phone, I logged into PC and everything synced over except for my up next list. When I then opened PC on my old phone, the up next list synced to my new phone which deleted everything that was in it (over 200 episodes). Can the list please be reverted to a previous one?

  • @jessatkins4 Did you already set up an Up Next list on your new phone before you logged into your Pocket Casts account? Let me first clarify what happens when you log into your account on a new device that already has an Up Next queue.

    Your new phone downloads your old phone’s Up Next queue and merges it with any existing items. After the merge completes, it syncs these changes back to the Pocket Casts servers. From then on, this becomes your account’s Up Next queue.

    If you removed any items on your old device but didn’t remove them on your new phone yet, the system will add them back in. However, rest assured, it won’t delete anything.

    If this process doesn’t match your experience, could you please provide more details about your situation? Did you sync everything from your old phone before logging into your account on the new phone?

    Hi, I didn’t do anything on my new phone except log in to PC – I didn’t add anything to the up next list. I saw everything else sync over, except there was no up next list on my new phone.

    I am having roughly this problem:

    Got a new phone. Both are Android Pixels (5 and 7)

    New Phone synced everything except the UpNext Queue

    Waited and hit Refresh multiple times

    Played podcasts on Old Phone, moved episodes in the Queue around (to try to get New Phone to recognize it), and nothing

    Began adding podcasts to New Phone’s UpNext, and those synced on the Old Phone

    Tried adding new episodes to Old Phone UpNext, and those are not syncing on new phone

    So, UpNext is only syncing from New Phone to Old Phone, and not the other way around

    Help?

    Old phone: Samsung Galaxy S20+, Android 13, One UI 5.1, Pocketc Casts 7.42 (9113)

    New phone: Google Pixel Pro 7, Android 13, Pocket Casts 7.42 (9113)

    My up next list is now syncing on both phones, but that is the new list that I have started since I lost the old one (started on the new phone). I would still like to recover the old one if possible!

    So, UpNext is only syncing from New Phone to Old Phone, and not the other way around

    @delapierced can you please let us know what Pocket Casts versions you have on both apps?

    While you’re checking that, can you please also make sure that they’re both signed in to the same account?

    @jessatkins4 It’s good to hear the Up Next is now synced between both phones. As it turns out, since we don’t store your Up Next list history, there’s no possible way to retrieve them.

    I hope you don’t have any sync issue again in the future, but if you continue to have this problem, please do let us know.

    Both versions were the most up-to-date available

    Both phones were logged into my account

    The good news is that at some point the next day, the UpNext did sync. I am not sure why it took ~24 hours for UpNext to sync when everything else synced right away, but it did transfer over
