User interface completely unresponsive

Since the last update, the user interface has become repeatedly unresponsive after a while. No element of the app responds to touch anymore. The only way to continue using the app at all is to forcibly quit and restart it.
The system UI is not affected. The app switcher, notification center and control center can be easily activated.Am I the only one with this problem?

I’m having the same issue. It seems to occur after a podcast finishes. I then switch to pocket casts and the whole UI is not responsive. The only way forward is to force quit.

Thank you for reporting this issue. We have submitted version 7.53.1 to Apple which fixes this issue and will be out very soon.

Hey everyone, version 7.53.1 has been approved and is now rolling out.
To get the update quicker you can manually update by:
- Open the App Store
- Search for Pocket Casts
- Tap the Update button
If the update button doesn’t show, you can:
- Open the App Store
- Tap your profile icon in the top corner
- Pull down to refresh the app updates
- Search for Pocket Casts in the list
- Tap Update
