Viewing your own shared link on the web plays the current podcast

I primarily use Pocket Casts on my phone and often share links with friends, coworkers, or myself to listen on my work PC. However, when I share a link to myself and click on it later, the web player opens to the correct podcast at the shared position, but then immediately switches to the podcast I was currently playing on my phone. My expectation is that I should be able to play the podcast from the shared position in the web player, so I believe this is a fault.

PS: As a workaround I use incognito mode, but still think its a fault worth fixing.

  • Hi @torq! Could you tell me more about this? Are you logged in to your Pocket Casts account on the Web Player? If so, the app is meant to sync across different versions of Pocket Casts, including the Web player. You should be able to continue listening to your podcast from the app in the Web player. However, having the shared episode not play is not expected.
We were not able to replicate this in our testing. When this happens again, could you send the debug logs from your mobile device? You can contact us from the app. Go to Profile > Help & Feedback > Contact Support > Get Support. In the description please include a link to this thread.
To rule out browser issues, please test on a different computer, and different internet connection. You can also try a different web browser and clear browser cache. Do reach out if you need further assistance with this.
