What does “default” mean?

If I change the default app from one payment app to another on my phone, the new app handles all payment activity and launches when I have need for payment. With PocketCasts, I changed the default icon as instructed yet the June icon persists to my vehicle, watch, and underlying Android system. Shouldn’t a change to default actually make a change? If not, I suggest the user documentation change to include ability to add optional icons but there is no way to change the default icon appearance.

  • Hi, @technobritt! The June icon is temporary and will revert to the default icon in July—”default” being the old, red Pocket Casts icon. You can read more about the change here.

Are you only using the Android app? If yes, seeing two icons in your app drawer is expected. It’s a limitation on the Android OS when adding custom icons. You can, however, have only one icon show up on your home screen.

If you’re using Android Auto, it’s not possible to change the icon there. As for the watch, can you let us know which watch you’re using?
