Bio

I write about books, sport, food, travel and how the internet affects popular and political culture. This is because I am a historian, and history includes literally everything. With Jeremy Sams, I was but am currently not writing the book for Damsel in Distress, a musical based on Gershwin songs and a Wodehouse novel. My own first novel, The Kilburn Social Club, is about a medical student who inherits a utopian football team she doesn't want. I hope you'll like it, whatever you think about sport. It was published by Jonathan Cape in August.
