Google Podcasts OPML file issues

    No matter what I try, Pocket Casts will not recognize the Google Podcasts OPML file. Any suggestions or am I just out of luck?

    Hi, @impangs! Which app are you trying to import from—iOS or Android?

    In addition, what’s the error message you’re getting? We’ve seen a few cases where Google Takeout is not encoding the file correctly, and we may need to fix the OPML file for you.

    Hi @staff-cara I also can’t import my Google Podcasts OPML into Pocket Casts, would you be so kind as to help me somehow?
    The error says:
    Se ha producido un error al importar OPML
    No se pueden importar los podcasts del archive OPML queue has especificado. Comprueba queue sea válido.

    I’m using iOS 15.7.5 on an Iphone 7.

    Hi! Can you both confirm you are following these steps?

    If you used a Google Account with Google Podcasts, please do the following:

    1. Go to Google Takeout.
    2. Create an export of your Google Account data with “Google Podcasts” selected. You can leave everything else unselected. Google will then work on the export and email you once they are done. According to Google, the process can take a long time—possibly hours or days—to complete.
    3. Check your Gmail inbox for an email with the subject “Your Google data is ready to download.”
    4. On the Google Takeout email, click “Download your files.” Follow the prompts to download the exported ZIP file.
    5. Open the Zip file, and extract the Subscriptions.opml file from Google Podcasts > Subscriptions.
    6. Import the Subscriptions.opml file into Pocket Casts:
     – On the web and desktop apps: click your Profile on the upper-right corner > Settings > Import & Export > Import Podcasts and select your Subscriptions.opml file
     – On the Android app: go to Profile > Settings (gear icon) > Import & Export OPML > Import Subscriptions > Select File and select your Subscriptions.opml file
     – On the iOS app: go to Profile > Settings (gear icon) > Import Podcasts and follow the instructions under “Import from other apps”
