Androd problem – no new episodes

    Hi, I’m using Pocket Casts (version 8.12) on Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, Android version 16. Since tuesday or wednesday new episodes don’t appear on the episodes lists. The problem is with all the podcasts, not just one. Some of them are usually published in the night so I have them ready jn the app in the morning. Some did load later in the day (around noon). And today again nothing, no new episodes, although they are available in other podcast apps. I tried to restart both the app and my phone, clearing the history, but it didn’t help. And it looks like the app is still refreshing – it shows like that since morning

    Thanks for reaching out, and sorry you’re running into this! The delayed and missing episodes across all your podcasts at once does point to a feed-parsing delay on our end rather than a device-side problem.

    Here are a few things worth trying in the meantime:

    1. Open the Profile tab and tap Refresh Now to force a full refresh.
    2. For any specific podcast that still isn’t updating, go to the podcast’s details screen, tap the three-dot menu, and select Refresh Episode List. This nudges our system to re-check that feed directly.
    3. On the podcast’s details screen, pull down to refresh as well, just to make sure the list is fully up to date after the above steps.

    One thing also worth checking: tap the filter options on a podcast’s episode list and make sure Show Archived is enabled. It’s possible some episodes came in and were auto-archived, which would hide them from the default view.

    If episodes are still not appearing after those steps, it would really help us investigate if you could share the names (or share links) of a couple of the affected podcasts. That lets us check whether there’s a feed-parsing issue on our side for those specific feeds.

    Hi,

    I tried the recommended steps. Tapping the refresh button doesn’t seem to do anything, it still says “Refreshing…”

    Refreshing on the episode list shows “No new episodes found”. And when pulling down on the podcast’s detail screen the loading circle appears but it’s just there for a long time until I leave the screen.

    Yesterday the episodes appeared again sometime in the afternoon.

    I don’t have many podcasts releasing episodes on Saturday, but these two do have a new ones today (I checked) but I don’t see them in my feed.

    First off, you did all the right things: restarting the app and phone, clearing, and refreshing are exactly the steps I’d have suggested, so there’s nothing you’ve missed on your end.

    What you’re describing — episodes showing up in other apps right away, but Pocket Casts sitting on “Refreshing…” and only pulling them in hours later (sometimes around noon or in the afternoon) — points to a delay in picking up new episodes for some feeds, rather than a problem with your phone or the app itself.

    Normally Pocket Casts checks each feed roughly every 20 minutes, but a feed can occasionally get into a state where new episodes take much longer to come through, which matches the pattern you’re seeing. The good news is the episodes aren’t lost – they do come through, just later than they should.

    One thing that would help me confirm there’s nothing else going on with the app: could you grab a debug log next time it’s stuck? In the app, go to Profile > Help and Feedback, then tap the logs icon in the top-right corner, and you can send it over from there. If you can also note roughly when you last saw it stuck on “Refreshing…”, that gives me a timestamp to line things up against. You can add a link to this thread in your ticket with the logs.

    Hi, thanks for the answer, I found the logs, I’ll send them next time I notice the refresh is stuck.

    Hi, I’ve send the logs, the app is stuck on Refresh from at least 7:50 am (so for about 15 minutes now).
