Android Automotive Issues – Chevy Equinox EV

    April OTR update of the AAOS system created a couple of issues in my 2025 Chevy Equinox EV:

    1. Steering wheel buttons to skip forward and back no longer work on Pocket Casts app. Works on screen and in the app.

    2. Up Next Playlist is no longer showing on Podcast screen (top right corner icon is gone).

    3. This predates the update, but smart playlists outside of New Releases shows “Media Not Available for Browsing” at all times.

    When using Android Automotive, the app shows “Media list is unavailable for browsing” for 5 out of 8 playlists.

    I have this issue too on 2024 Cadillac XT4. The playlists that emit this message are:

    • New Releases
    • Short to Long
    • Downloaded
    • Unfinished 
    • In Progress 

    The playlists that work are:

    • Favorites
    • Oldest First
    • Starred

    The offending message is only emitted when running Pocketcasts on Android Automotive. It works fine via Apple CarPlay and running on Apple devices. 

    It is ONLY when using Android Automotive that the offending message is emitted for some playlists.

    You’re right that this appears to be specific to Android Automotive, and you’re not alone. We’ve seen similar reports from other users across different vehicles, and our development team is already tracking this as a known issue with Android Automotive UI/UX bugs. We don’t have a fix timeline to share just yet, but it is on the team’s radar.

    In the meantime, here are a few things worth trying:

    1. Open Pocket Casts on Android Automotive, tap the Settings cogwheel, scroll to the bottom, and tap “Refresh now” to force a sync with your account.
    2. Check that your app is up to date — the current Android version is 8.10.
    3. If you’d like to help us investigate further, you can pull logs directly from the Android Automotive app: Settings cogwheel > About > Help & Feedback > back arrow > Logs. A screenshot of the relevant log entries would be very useful to share with us.

    I have confirmed that Refresh Now doesn’t fix the issues I am having, and I can confirm the App is up to date. A full uninstall and reinstall did not fix the issue.

    I’m having the same issue with the forward and back skip buttons (on the steering wheel) not working in the pocket casts app, but it works everywhere else.

    I’m having the same issue except I have a 2025 Blazer EV SS. I got an update on early March and I’m not sure when this started happening, I just noticed it maybe 2 weeks ago. I did get another update on May 10th which did not fix this issue. Here are the required screenshots. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can provide anything else
