i was able to do it without subscribing to pocketcast by following instructions at https://myaccount.economist.com/s/article/How-can-I-listen-to-Economist-Podcasts#RSS

@ap8231, how were you able to do it? I upgraded to iOS17, followed the instructions on the Economist FAQ page to copy the RSS feed and pasted it into the “search” feature on the Pocketcast App. However, I get the circle of death and nothing happens. How were you able to sync them? Apple Podcasts make it easy to sync and I would rather use Pocketcast than Apple or the Economist App. Thank you.

There is something wrong with the pocket casts setup at the moment. It isn’t allowing custom URL feeds from Slate either. @gjlynch17 I think you did it right. I was able to add one feed correctly but only after several tries and now it’s nothing at all.

Hi! Our developers had noticed an issue with our database but they are currently working on a fix.

@staff-frank – thank you for the info. Do you know if there’s any update on this? Currently still seeing no podcasts returned when using the economists’ RSS feed url to search

We did experience some server issues recently, which definitely caused more problems than usual with parsing. That said, we have now released some fixes for those.
If you continue to notice issues though, please do share the RSS feed URL with us.
